To commemorate this year’s World Day for Prevention of Child Abuse, Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) will be releasing a new song under HOPE Campaign, in collaboration with musicians and singers from New Zealand and the Maldives. The song will be launched at the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race DMRR 2017, and brings a strong message of hope for children, that they can ask for help, and that they have the right to be safe and respected.
The HOPE Campaign song ‘You’re Not Alone’, was written by Lisa Tagaloa and Des Mallon. Hailing from New Zealand, lyricist Lisa Tagaloa (singer/bass player) and music creator Des Mallon (drummer) have over 40 years experience between them, playing in both covers and original bands spanning a multitude of genres. Nishfa Nashid and Mahran Majid, both talented and well-known musicians in the Maldives provided the vocals and composition for the song, making this a unique and international effort on behalf of children. The song was recorded at Maskey Studio, with special contributions from Ishaantey and Limestone. ARC thanks the team behind the production of ‘You’re Not Alone’, for their remarkable work on behalf of children.
ARC thanks Dhiraagu for their continued commitment to improving the lives of children in the Maldives, and for providing financial contributions as well as a very important annual platform dedicated to child protection. ARC also extends a very special thank you to all the runners who represented ARC at DMRR 2017, and to everyone who supported local NGOs to raise funds and awareness for child protection in the Maldives.
