On behalf of the children at Kudakudhinge Hiya and Amaan Hiya, Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) extends a big thank you to everyone who donated gifts through ARC’s Annual Ramazan Collection for children in shelters.
This year’s Ramazan Collection included storybooks, toys, clothes, food items, toiletries and bed sheets, among many other items. ARC greatly appreciates the wide public support received for this year’s Ramazan Collection and extends deep gratitude to everyone who helped make it a great success.
ARC also joins the children in sending out sincere appreciation to the Management of Olive Garden Restaurant, for their generosity in hosting this year’s Annual Roadha Veellun. The children greatly enjoyed the fun evening out, in Male’, and the special treats provided at the event.
ARC has been working closely with children’s shelters since its registration in December 2009 and continues to organize a number of programmes for the holistic development of children as well as capacity building trainings for the childcare workers and staff. A total of 76 children are currently housed at Kudakudhinge Hiya and Amaan Hiya in Villingili.
