Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) has organized a Parental Effectiveness Training PET programme at Kudakudhinge Hiya, which is being conducted by Lifenet Private Limited. A total of 15 staff members working at the shelter are participating in this programme, being held at Kudakudhinge Hiya, Villingili, from 21 August to 15 September 2013.
The programme focuses on communication and conflict resolution skills for caretakers, taught by a certified instructor, and ARC believes that improving these skills would help enhance the quality of care received by the children.
ARC has conducted a similar PET programme for the careworkers of Kudakudhinge Hiya in 2011 and 2012, and is encouraged by the positive difference that the programme helps create.
