ARC invites the public to participate in our Safety Steps Art Competition 2017.
The objective of this competition is to raise and promote awareness on the practice of safety and preparedness in an occurrence of an emergency or a natural disaster.
Twelve artworks will be selected and featured in the design of ARC’s official calendar for the year 2018. Winners will be announced on International Day for Disaster Reduction, the 13th of October 2017.
All proceeds from the calendar sales will be used to fund ARC’s Safety Steps Campaign for Disaster Reduction.

Competition Guidelines:
- The competition is open to artists of age 11-17
- Artwork maybe submitted individually or in groups
- Art work should be made using paint based material (acrylics, watercolor, etc), based on any of the six topics. All artwork must be presented in a landscape orientation on A3 sized paper.
- An individual or group may submit up to 3 artworks, provided that each submission reflects a different topic
- All artwork must reflect Maldivian children, families, or people.
- Include the artist’s name, age, contact information, and the topic on the back of the artwork.
How to Submit:
- Submit your artwork to Advocating Right of Children (ARC), G. Nooraanee Villa, Alikilegefaanu Magu, Male’ on 6th or 7th of October 2017, between 4:00 to 6:00 PM

The artwork must not contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content. Artwork deemed inappropriate will be disqualified.
Photos should be exclusive to ARC print publications.
ARC reserves the right to post the submitted material on ARC’s website or social media platforms as well as redistribute the material in its final, laid-out form for reprint requests.In each publication, the artist’s name will be listed.
Judging Criteria
Entries will be judged for originality and relevance of the artwork with respect to the specified list of topics by a panel of judges.
