Kurumba Maldives has today renewed partnership with Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) as a Champion of the Child Rights, under ARC’s Corporate Ambassadorship Programme. Speaking at the official signing ceremony, ARC expressed sincere gratitude to Kurumba Maldives for their continued commitment towards promoting the rights of children in Maldives. As a Champion Corporate Ambassador, Kurumba Maldives will be providing crucial funds needed for ARC’s Shelter Support Programme, dedicated for children living in shelters. The funds will be used specifically for capacity-building training programmes for childcareworkers as well asprogrammes for the children to encourage physical fitness and develop their skills and creativity. The previous year’s partnership between Kurumba Maldives and ARC focused on the ‘Early Childcare Play and Development Programme’ to help develop children’s educational, social and problem-solving skills acquired through play.
As a non-profit organization, ARC relies on generous contributions from the community to expand its work with children’s shelters, advocacy efforts, and nationwide awareness campaigns on child rights. As such, the Corporate Ambassadorship Programme launched by ARC in 2013 provides an opportunity for businesses to partner with ARC to improve the quality of life of children, and to help strengthen the child protection system in the Maldives, through corporate social responsibility.
