Kurumba Maldives has joined ARC’s Corporate Ambassadorship Programme today, as a Champion of Child Rights in the Maldives. The MOU was signed by Mr Jason Kruse, General Manager, on behalf of Kurumba Maldives and Ms Zenysha Zaki, Executive Director, on behalf of ARC.
Speaking at the official signing ceremony held today in Kurumba Maldives, ARC expressed sincere gratitude to Kurumba Maldives for its commitment and dedication to protect and promote the rights of children in the Maldives. As a Corporate Ambassador, Kurumba Maldives will be providing crucial funds needed for ARC’s Shelter Support Programme, which is driven by the purpose of helping children in alternative homes receive the care and support that they need and deserve to grow up happy and reach their true potential. The funds will be used specifically for the Phase II of the Early Childcare, Play and Development Programme launched by ARC in June 2014, which aims to incorporate play activities into the daily routine of children at the shelter, taking into account the importance of play in the education and development of children.
As a non-profit organization, ARC relies on generous contributions from the community to expand its work with children’s shelters, advocacy efforts, and nationwide awareness campaigns on children’s rights. As such, the Corporate Ambassadorship Programme was launched by ARC in 2013 and provides an opportunity for businesses to partner with ARC to improve the quality of life of children in the Maldives and to help strengthen the child protection system in the country, through corporate social responsibility.
