ARC wishes to congratulate one of the boys from Kudakudhinge Hiya who has won the championship in his age group, in the Interschool Badminton Tournament 2013.
He has been training under ARCs Badminton Programme launched in October 2011, which provides daily Coaching for the children of Kudakudhinge Hiya, as well as Muhyiddin School of Villingili, in partnership with the VilliMale Badminton Development Committee and Badminton Association of Maldives.
The success of this programme would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the children, the coaches and also the generous contributions we receive from sponsors and supporters of our cause. The Badminton Programme is one of several such programmes offered by ARC for the children of Kudakudhinge Hiya, including Football Coaching, Zumba classes, Chess and Swimming lessons.
ARC believes that sports is not only a fun activity that promotes healthy, active lifestyles, but also provides a meaningful medium through which the children could learn about teamwork, discover their individual skills and talents, as well as promote self-esteem and confidence. ARC also believes it can help find a base for a future vocation for children who have the interest and skills.
