Early Childhood Play and Development Training Programme for Childcare workers

ARC has today commenced a new training programme for childcare workers at Kudakudhinge Hiya, with the aim of broadening their understanding about the role of play in early childhood, for children’s development and education. The knowledge, understanding and skills gained through this training would enable care workers to embed play activities in daily routine for the children in their care.

The training is scheduled to be held for a period of two months, for all care workers looking after children between 0 to 8 years. Following the training sessions, ARC will continue to support the care workers in ensuring effective implementation of play based activities for children.

ARC’s Senior Consultant on Early Childhood, Ms Aminath Shashee (Masters of Teaching, Early Childhood) will be conducting the training and supporting monitoring and implementations until December 2014. Certificates will be awarded to the participants at the end of the year, based on participation and implementation.
