ARC’s Celebrates Partnership with Corporate Ambassadors

Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) held an event to celebrate its partnership with Corporate Ambassadors at Kurumba Maldives, today to recognise their support for the rights of the child in the Maldives.

Speaking at the event, ARC’s Managing Director Mr. Muruthala Moosa stated that a culture of human rights can only be promoted, when protection of children’s rights is at the heart of policy formation.  In this regard, ARC calls up on politicians to formulate manifestos that promote children’s rights for 2018 presidential election. We also call upon the State to enact the long overdue Child Protection Bill and Juvenile Justice Bill.

At the event, Awards of Appreciation were presented to ARC’s Corporate Ambassadors of 2017, as follows:

During the event, ARC also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with new Corporate Ambassadors for the year 2018. These include: Event Maldives and Praxis Law Firm LLP as Champions of Children’s Rights. In addition, Blak Private Limited  as Advocate of Children’s Rights. Allied Insurance Company of the Maldives and official photographer Mr. Ahmed Nishan also signed as Supporters of Children’s Right.

Launched in 2013, the Corporate Ambassadorship Programme has been an initiative by ARC, inviting businesses and individuals to work together to improve the quality of life of children in the Maldives and to strengthen the child protection system, through donations and services.
