On the happy occasion of Children’s Day of 2017, Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) extends greetings and good wishes to children across the nation.
To mark the occasion, ARC has organized the following programmes:
- ‘Exploring Art’ for the children living in Kudakudhinge’ Hiya – designed to develop the children’s technical and creative knowledge, and help them discover their individual talents and skills
- ‘RESPECT’ interactive Assembly sessions for Imaduddin School students Grades 3 to 7 – with a focus on anti-bullying, and instilling social values in children
- Launching of a new storybook from the HEAL series – to encourage children to ‘Dunk the Junk’ (event scheduled for 19 May at Rasfannu Beach)
ARC thanks everyone across the country who have worked so tirelessly to make this day a memorable one for every child, and all those who strive every single day to provide children the support they need to be healthy, stay safe and to enjoy and achieve.
Considering the particular vulnerabilities of children in society, and determined to prevent abuse, neglect, and all forms of violence and discrimination against them, ARC also takes this opportunity to call on every citizen to make it a priority to safeguard children, and to combine efforts for the protection of children.Today we renew our pledge to do all in our power to promote the rights of children to survive and thrive, to learn and to grow, to make their voices heard and to reach their full potential.
