ARC’s Storybook shortlisted in four categories in Europe’s World Gourmand Awards 2018!

ARC’s third children’s storybook under Healthy Eating and Active Lifestyles (HEAL) campaign has been shortlisted in four categories in this year’s Gourmand Awards. The book is selected as a finalist under categories B07 – Illustrations, D02 – Health and Nutrition, D03 – Children, and F- Fund-Raising/States, at F05-Asia. For this year’s award there were entries from 215 countries and regions and to be nominated in four categories is a huge achievement for the Maldives.

The nominated book ,“The Great Plan of Gunge Gloop Group” is an educational storybook, based on the message Dunk the Junk, teaching children on the dangers of eating processed food, high in salt, fat and sugar with added preservatives and additives. The content of the book is presented in a fun interactive manner with colorful illustrations easily relatable for children.

The first two storybooks in the HEAL series, “The Colourful Companionship of Casey Cabbage” and “The Sneaky Snare of the Syrupy Slurp Slops” received awards by Europe’s Gourmand Awards in 2013 and 2015 respectively. ARC’s 2nd book was also shortlisted amongst the best 6, for Europe’s Gourmand World Awards 2015 under the Best in the World (Children) category.

The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards is one of the most prestigious awards of the food industry that celebrates and awards all books about food or drinks and features a number of world-renowned chefs, publishers and authors every year. The Best in the World will be announced on 25 – 29 May 2018.
