ARC signs MoU with Save Planet Earth

Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Save Planet Earth, a worldwide program to confiscating carbon through accelerated afforestation and reforestation initiatives. With this MoU, Save Planet Earth also becomes a corporate partner of ARC under ARC’s Corporate Ambassadorship Programme at supporter level.

Through this partnership, ARC and Save Planet Earth have a tree plantation drive underway where seedlings will be planted in inhabited islands across the Maldives. Such an initiative could control and reverse the negative impacts of climate change, which is already being felt across the Maldives and is negatively impacting the rights of the child in the Maldives.

Launching of this partnership coincides with World Environment Day 2021, and is especially relevant to this year’s theme – “Ecosystem Restoration”, which will also launch the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. Ecosystem restoration can take many forms: Growing trees, greening cities, rewilding gardens, changing diets or cleaning up beaches and oceans.

ARC looks forward to working with Save Planet Earth as a corporate partner and hopes to establish more beneficial projects that would lessen the detriments of climate change.
