Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Kudakudhinge Hiya, Villimale tonight, to formalize the organizations’ annual programmes to be conducted at the shelter for the years 2016 and 2017. The MOU was signed by Ms. Zeenaz Adnan, CEO on behalf of Kudakudhinge Hiya and Ms. Zenysha Zaki, Executive Director on behalf of ARC at an event held last night to celebrate the shelter’s 9th anniversary.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Zeenaz noted that the purpose of signing an official agreement with organizations such as ARC is to formalize the existing partnership between ARC and Kudakudhinge Hiya in which ARC has been conducting educational and recreational programmes for the children, and staff development and training programmes for the careworkers.
ARC has been working very closely with children’s shelters since its inception in December 2009 through its Shelter Support Programme. With the signing of this MoU, ARC will seek to further expand and strengthen its Shelter Support Programme to ensure that children in shelters receive the care and support that they need and deserve, to grow up happy and reach their true potential.
