ARC participates at a Regional Advocacy and Communication Workshop in Islamabad

ARC participated at the Regional Advocacy and Communication Workshop held in Islamabad from 25-28 March 2014, as the Co-chair of NACG Maldives – National Action and Coordinating Group on violence against women and children. ARC was represented at the workshop by Ms Mariyam Shifana, Board Director.

The objective of the workshop was to adopt a unified Advocacy and Communication Strategy to address issues of violence against children, in accordance with the recommendations of the United Nations Global Study on violence against children. The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Law, Justice and Human Rights of Pakistan, in collaboration with the South Asia Initiative to End Violence Against Children (SAIEVAC), an apex body of SAARC.

Participants of the regional workshop included delegations from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka comprising senior government’s officials/SAIEVAC National Coordinators and representatives from NACGs and INGOs.
