Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) has launched 5 video clips, in partnership with Bank of Maldives to disseminate the key messages of the RESPECT Campaign. The video clips are part of ARC’s RESPECT Campaign, that was undertaken in partnership with Bank of Maldives. The video clips will be shared on social media, and broadcast via TV channels, to promote social values.
Under this partnership, ARC conducted interactive awareness sessions for students of nine secondary schools in Male’ and reached a total of 491 students from Grades 8 and 9 of: Aminiya School, Ghaazee School, Kalaafaanu School, Jamaaludhin School, Hiriya School, Iskandhar School, Majeedhiya School, Thaajuddeen School and Billabong High International School.
Launched in 2014, the RESPECT Campaign promotes social values, and encourages positive and respectful behaviour, courtesy and civility in children. The campaign also has a special focus on anti-bullying and anti-discrimination. The key messages of the campaign are:
– Respect yourself: encouraging self-esteem, self-control and self-responsibility
– Respect others: respecting peers, elders, teachers, etc.
– Respect differences: respecting difference in appearances, opinions and cultures
– Respect boundaries: respecting laws, rules, personal space and privacy
– Respect surroundings: respecting one’s own community and environment
