In association with Cheval Blanc Randheli, Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) has hosted annual Roadhaveellun for 47 children living at Kudakudhinge Hiya has been held yesterday at Maagiri Hotel and on May 30, at Hotel Ocean Grand, Hulhumale’ for 55 children at Fiyavathi.
ARC, on behalf of the children at Fiyavathi and Kudakudhinge Hiya would like to extend heartfelt gartitude to Cheval Blanc Randheli for hosting the roadhaveellun as in the previous year. ARC would also like to thank Mooshan, Thas and The RoboMan for providing fun entertainment for the event at Fiyavathi.
ARC’s Annual Roadhavellun has been a continuous event from ARC for children residing in shelters since the organization was founded in 2009. Through its Shelter Support Programme, ARC works closely with the shelters by organizing various programmes both for the children as well as the staff. Some of the most recent programmes by ARC at shelters include a programme to promote physical activity and an art programme that are currently being conducted at Kudakudhinge Hiya. Furthermore, a computer coding programme is also being organized to be held at Fiyavathi next week. ARC also focuses on holding capacity building trainings for care workers at both shelters to ensure better relationships are built between the children and care workers, and to help improve the services provided for the children in their care.
Children in shelters have remained a priority for ARC since its foundation. ARC will continue to advocate for the rights of these children and work closely with the community to bring about positive change in their lives. ARC would also like to thank Ministry of Gender and Family, as well as the staff at the shelters for continuously supporting ARC’s work at children’s shelters.
