Advocating the Rights of Children – ARC’s team wins the 42nd National Badminton Tournament


ARC’s team has won the National Badminton Tournament for the fourth consecutive year. At this 42nd National Badminton Tournament that took place from 26 November to 5 December 2015, ARC was represented by Zayan Shaheed Zaki, Mohamed Ajfan Rasheed, Mohamed Nashfaan, Ali Sharmeel, Madheeh Jamal, and Ismail Naeem. The ARC team competed against Club Eagles, Unique Sports Club, Maldives Media Club and Club Static in the Men’s Team Event Category.

As in previous years, through this tournament, ARC’s team helped raise awareness against child abuse and promoted one of the key messages of ARC’s HOPE Campaign, which is, Reporting Abuse. The HOPE Campaign launched in 2010 focuses on educating children, parents and teachers, as well as the general public on ways to prevent child abuse, empowering children against abuse, recognizing signs of abuse and providing support to victims of abuse.

ARC wishes to express sincere appreciation to the Badminton Association of Maldives for providing this platform to raise awareness on preventing child abuse. ARC also thanks the players for their commitment and enthusiasm in promoting and protecting the rights of childrenin Maldives.
